Mr. Peter

Professional musician and Waldorf teacher Peter Della Croce began his musical journey at the early age of nine on the New Jersey shore and earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has taught for over fifteen years while keeping busy performing in various idioms/genres. Currently he is actively playing with the Maui Chamber and Maui Pops orchestras, Jimmy Mac and the Kool Kats (leading convention and dance band), and Marimba Komborera (African dance band). In the past he has performed with Dr. Nat & Rio Ritmo (latin band which plays salsa, samba, and more) and numerous musical theater shows at the MACC and Iao Theater. Peter was the founding Lead Drummer and instructor for the Isle of Maui Pipe Band, in which he still plays as a snare drummer. He also recently formed the Glen Innes Session Band (an Irish and Scottish traditional ensemble) with three other island Celtic musicians, coming from the former Celtic band from 2010 named Finn McCoul. Peter teaches all levels/styles of drumset and beginner/intermediate levels of guitar, bass, and ukulele.

His experience includes teaching at the high school and university level at Mahidol University College of Music in Thailand and assisting in the band program at Kamehameha Schools Maui. Over the past few years Peter has been associated and performed with the Maui Academy of Performing Arts, Seabury Hall, ProArts, and other non-profit organizations including the Arts Education for Children Group and Jazz Maui. He has taught private music lessons on Maui at Bounty Music and other studios. Peter has directed choirs and bands at the Honolulu and Haleakala Waldorf Schools and taught general music at Horizons Academy of Maui, while also serving a roster of private music students.

Performing with musical theatre and classical, jazz and rock, latin and African bands, and even bagpipe bands in places like Hawaii and Thailand to New York and Boston, Peter has been making music for over 25 years…
